WHO WE ARE;
Since its inception in 1982, the Pageant was evolved and had
undergone a metamorphosis of name changes. In 1992, the Pageant was
incorporated with a non-profit status and will henceforth be known as MISS
BLACK OHIO. In 2001, Fanchon C. Kent, Miss Black Ohio 1997 title holder,
assumed the role to become the new CEO/President.
Our objective is to mentor
young ladies in particular those first generation college bound students. Our
goal is to prevent early teen pregnancy in the State of Ohio among African
American Teens and to educate them on the high risk of HIV within our
community. It is our purpose to assist them in attaining skills, personal
development and the creation of good habits. We believe that this inspiration
will empower them to become confident, educated, and esteemed young women.
Our mission is to empower our female youth through pageantry
Our vision is to reach our female youth ages 9-25 residing in the State of Ohio to build their self-esteem through our pageant and developmental workshops.
